You can lay them flat, stand them on edge, or even mix colors and profiles to create intricate, custom designs.

Choosing reclaimed tiles for your fireplace isn’t just about style—it’s about sustainability. You’re giving new life to materials that might otherwise go to waste, all while embracing a centuries-old tradition of practical creativity.

Why Use Clay Roof Tiles in a Fireplace?

  • Heat Resistant by Nature
Clay roof tiles are fired at extremely high temperatures—often exceeding 1000°C—making them naturally heat-resistant and ideal for fireplace use. They can handle both radiant and direct heat without cracking, warping, or discoloration.

  • Versatile Installation Options
Tiles can be installed flat or on edge, used whole or cut in half. This allows for a variety of design possibilities, from simple herringbone patterns to more elaborate mosaics. They’re equally suited for the fireback, hearth, or even as a decorative surround.

  • Compatible with Different Styles
Whether your home leans traditional, rustic, or modern, reclaimed tiles can add texture and authenticity. Weathered surfaces and natural color variation make them a natural fit for both heritage homes and contemporary interiors.
